Description

Mountain Aire is an easy-to-play funk shuffle tune featuring simple, repeated rhythms, conservative ranges, and appropriate solo space for beginning improvisers. It was originally published by Kendor Music in 1992. We are now able to re-release it here.

For all of these easy-band pieces, the instrumentation is typical big band (5 saxes – no doubles, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones, 4 rhythm) but all of these pieces can be played with as few as 3 saxes (alto, alto, tenor), 2 trumpets, 1 trombone, and 3 rhythm. This makes it easy to adapt to any instrumentation you may have at your disposal. All rhythm parts are completely written out, but also have chord changes, so your rhythm section can try coming up with their own fills and comping. The improvised solos are also written out with chord changes, so beginning improvisers may rely on the written lines provided or they may give their own improvised solo a try.
